2015: a great year for sharing knowledge and making new friends

2015 was a really great year for me in the Oracle area. I made a lot of new friends and I had a great time at a lot of events.

• I was elected as a delegate of the database community of DOAG for the annual general meetings in 2015 and 2016. That’s not really hard work, but it’s a good opportunity to get involved in the community and to meet people
• Speaker at three international events (#C15LV, #OOW15 and #UKOUG_TECH15) – it was a great experience for me and thanks to my colleagues Ludovico Caldara and Chris Antognini I made a lot of friends there.
• organizer of the first RACAttack workshop at Duesseldorf
• co-author of „Der Oracle DBA: Handbuch für die Administration der Oracle Datenbank 12c“. The book will be published in April 2016.

I got a lot of feedback on one of my presentations at UKOUG Tech15, the presentation on „Threaded Execution in Oracle 12c“. There were lots of ideas for further investigations – I must admit that I should have included all these things in my presentation. But this will be work for the next year; maybe it results in an article on „Threaded execution“.
